Positions are assigned at random for everyone present in the pre-queue at the start of the sale. Those joining after the sale has started will join the end of the queue.
A randomised queue removes the advantage of logging in early or having a faster internet connection, ensuring everyone present at the start has an equal chance of entering the site.
